Charles A. (Chuck) Taylor retired from Chevron Corporation in 2019 after almost 40 years of service with Gulf Oil and Chevron. Just prior to retirement, Chuck led Chevron’s upstream oil & gas and geothermal power businesses in Indonesia and the Philippines (2013-19). He also led Chevron’s upstream businesses in Nigeria (2003-07) and in the United Kingdom (1999-2003). Chuck served as a Corporate Officer as Corporate Vice President Health, Environment & Safety (2007-10) and Corporate Vice President of Strategic Planning (2011-13). Prior to these roles, he served in a wide variety of operational and technical leadership positions in New Orleans, Sumatra Indonesia and the San Francisco Bay Area.
Chuck recently participated on the Center for New American Security US-Philippine task force, focused on strategies to strengthen US-Philippine relations. He has also served on the board of directors of Accenture’s Global Energy Council, the Special Olympics of Northern California and the Epilepsy Council of Louisiana. He was also the corporate leadership sponsor for Chevron's 14,000 member XYZ Generational Network.
Chuck earned a bachelor of science degree in engineering from Purdue University in 1980 and a master's degree in business administration from Tulane University in 1992. At Tulane, he was awarded the Allen R. Vorholt Award for academic and business leadership and was elected to Beta Gamma Sigma scholastic honor society.
Chuck was born in 1957 in Muncie, Ind. He resides in Austin and is married to Georgeann Cissel and they have 3 grown children. Chuck enjoys diving, skiing, sculling, swimming and biking.
