Energy Institute Research Project Manager and External Relations Coordinator
Monique Hennington is a Project Manager and External Relations Coordinator at The University of Texas at Austin Energy Institute. She is passionate about promoting collaboration, increasing outcomes for disadvantaged populations, and encouraging the rising generation to believe in their potential and leadership aspirations.
Monique's career is marked by her leadership in implementing marketing and project management strategies, particularly now in the advanced clean energy sector. Her expertise also encompasses community engagement and industry sponsorship. Monique's contributions at The University of Texas at Austin's Energy Institute have been significant where she plays a pivotal part in supporting UT Energy Week, one of the largest academic conferences in the state.
Monique holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Mass Communications/ Media Studies, a User Experience Design certification, and has successfully managed significant marketing campaigns. Her experiences include budget oversight, branding programs, data analysis, and completing complex strategic planning projects for the university, the State of Texas, and Austin-Travis County.
Monique serves on the board of EcoRise, a national non-profit that mobilizes a new generation of leaders to design healthy, just, and thriving communities for all. Born and raised in Bastrop, TX, home of the Lost Pines, Monique is a native Texan who lives with her husband and son.
