This week at the Energy Symposium, Edward Mantey, GVP and Executive Advisor of Corporate Strategy & Planning and R&D at Toyota Motor North America, will present. The title of the talk is "Toyota Sustainable Mobility."
Speaker bio: Edward J. Mantey serves as Executive Advisor to the Corporate Strategy and Planning office at Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) located in Plano, Texas. Mantey also serves as Executive Advisor at Toyota Motor North America, Research and Development (TMNA R&D) based in York Township, Michigan. Prior to his current assignment, Mantey was Senior Vice President of the Product Development Office.
Mantey joined Toyota in 1991 with responsibility for overseeing the structural evaluations of products developed in North America. From 1996 to 2000, Mantey held the position of Executive Engineer for Development, Planning and Operations where his responsibilities included the position of Chief Engineer for the 2000 Avalon.
Mantey earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Ohio State University.
Abstract: In October 2015, Toyota announced the Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050. We have been striving to reduce the environmental burden attributed to automobiles to as close to zero as possible, while developing measures to contribute positively to the earth and its societies with the aim of achieving a sustainable society.
This presentation provides an update on Toyota’s efforts in North America and globally. To achieve our vision, we will need support from business partners, researchers, governmental agencies and even competitors. This is an exciting time to participate in making a better future.
